Camp wild in Cabin in the wilderness - Emergency accommodation

Experience unbelievable romance in a wooden cabin, in the absolute wilderness. Then, if you leave your cell phone in the car, you'll experience something you haven't experienced in a long time, or maybe never... :-)

The cabin can accommodate 3 - 10 people. Or, by prior arrangement, more people, depending on how you want to snuggle together :-).
In the cabin you can heat and cook on the stove, or outside, on an open fire.
Less than 100m below the cabin there is a small stream (often dries up in summer), where you can wash dishes and take a bath... This water can be brought to the cabin to wash your hands etc. Drinking water can be refilled at our home, we live nearby, about 700 m.

Definitely don't expect a white bed with a duvet, running water, electricity, free wifi, or a flush toilet.
Bring your gear, just like you would in the wild. Among other things, a sleeping bag, your own blanket underneath, plenty of candles, possibly a cooking pot, 6 x pencil batteries, a headlamp, and for those who can't do without, some kindling (Pepo).

Unfortunately, due to the protection of the surrounding vegetation, it is not possible to drive directly to the site. It is possible to park about 180m from the log cabin behind the pond dam. Please respect this. Thank youIn winter, when there is snow cover and in case of mud, I recommend to walk the driveway first to assess for yourself what you and your car can handle... :-)

Please remove all waste, do not make unnecessary noise etc..., you know.
Attention - you are in a protected area where lighting fires is forbidden by law. The owner doesn't mind, but that doesn't change the matter. Thus, an outdoor fire is at your own (theoretical) risk of a possible fine. So far it hasn't happened :-).
Please use wood for the outdoor fire and stove from the surrounding countryside, there is plenty of it. If you prepare some wood for other visitors, they will surely be grateful... :-)
If you want to be sure of warmth in the winter months (wood from the forest can be wet), just bring a bag of wood (not coal) briquettes. Can be bought anywhere along the way - gas station, hobby market, etc...
Those who don't know how to clean up after themselves (how to do it can be found on the internet) better not really start a fire. Hint: clean ashes (cooled!!!), without rubbish, can be scattered freely with a shovel, for example on the meadow. Please do not pile it up, but really scatter it around the meadow. It will fertilise the meadow nicely.

Toilet theme: If someone prefers to go into the countryside rather than to the caddy, that's OK, but please always bury your personal treasure and especially used papers. Thank you for that. Whoever I find wiped butt or ancestral papers around, I will collect them and send it in a package to the offender's address. The "it's been there before" excuse doesn't hold up, as I check the neighborhood after every crew :-).

We have been to the cabin several times over the past four years and have always rated it full marks. We got what was promised. This year was the last time we were to go for purely price reasons, as the trip has gone up 100% since 2021 and has already gone over the limit of what we are willing to pay for the experience.

I wouldn't knock the rating because of that, though. I dropped the rating because apparently the owner decided that firewood for the indoor stove during the cold months was no longer included. Which is a complete gamechanger for us, since firewood isn't collected a few hours before use among the fallen trees in the woods, and I certainly don't envision a vacation where I'm preparing firewood every afternoon (if only heating for a few hours in the evening) or every full day (if I need to heat in the morning or most of the day) regardless of the weather so that I'm sitting in at least 15 degrees Fahrenheit on my days off. In the past, firewood has always been available during the cold months to flood the cabin. At the time of payment for the stay, the unchanged description still indicated that nothing had changed about this situation. The information leaflet directly on the cabin looked the same. We didn't learn of the change until we arrived on site and there was nothing (or rather, we were rescued by previous visitors the first evening: Thank you good souls!). Fortunately, at least in our case, the owner had a little second thoughts and sent us a crate of cut wood the next day (wet, but better than nothing). His own words the day before, however, were that he no longer considered firewood to be part of the service. The crate is the only reason I gave at least three stars. If we had known this before booking, we wouldn't have paid for the stay in the first place. This is not fair treatment and the owner is taking it a bit too much as passive income.

velmi si vážím vašich návštěv.
Rád bych jen doplnil, že:
- dřevo na topení nebylo nikdy „v ceně“. Postrádalo by to jaksi smysl pobytu v přírodě, kdy se člověk opravdu "stará, aby měl“. Funguje to tak, že lidé si dřevo posbírají v lese sami, a nějaké dřevo zanechají i pro další návštěvníky. Pokud jste to vy nikdy nedělaly, vyplývá zřejmě z nepochopení tohoto (nepsaného) pravidla. Proto jsem to do popisu pro jistotu doplnil. Ale jste první za mnoho let, kdo se domníval, že dřevo na topení je v ceně. Ano, poslední roky jsem 1x za rok dostal na místní pile bednu odřezků z výroby, a tu jsem odvezl ke srubu. Ale výroba už skončila… Takže pokud, jak píšete "v minulosti bylo během chladných měsíců dříví na zátop srubu vždy k dispozici.“, tak to bylo díky této bedně, nebo díky předcházejícím návštěvníkům. Chudáci ti, co přišli po vás, ti žádné dřevo připravené od vás neměli… :-) - to je vtip, chudáci to nebyli, nějak se asi postarali, protože si nikdo nestěžoval… Tu přepravku dřeva, kterou jsem vám poslal, nebyla proto, že se mi něco "rozleželo v hlavě", ale proto, že jste mi řekla, že jste nemocná, a že vám dochází dřevo (to které pro vás nechali připravené předchozí hosté). Proto jsem druhý den požádal souseda, aby vám tam nějaké dřevo dovezl. Není zač. :-)
- cenu pobytu tvoří mimo jiné: 20% provize pro platformu, přes kterou si objednáváte pobyt, rekreační poplatek obci (35,- Kč za osobu a noc), daň z přijmu 15% (myslím), inflace za poslední 4 roky cca 30 - 40%, atd… A ano, srub pronajímám proto, že z toho mám (nějaký) příjem, nikoli zcela „pasivní“. Pokud to vidíte jako dobrý business plán, kupte pozemky (louka + les), postavte tam chajdu, a pasivně přijímejte příjmy z pronájmu. :-) Až budete tvořit ceník pobytu, poradím vám, že (bohužel) čím levnější pronájem je, tím „horší“ návštěvníci jezdí… :-(

Opravdu si velmi vážím každé vaší návštěvy, děkuji, a přeji vše dobré.
