A palouk under the mountains

Dear traveller, we would like to welcome you to the picturesque village of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou at the foot of the peaceful Lusatian Mountains, whose centre is a town conservation area and is full of old timbered cottages. It is a regularly (after about 14 days) mowed meadow behind our fenced garden. The site offers tranquillity with no other direct neighbours. The meadow provides a fine base from which to visit countless beautiful places whether by car, bike, train, bus or on foot. There are also several cycling routes in the area. For us we can recommend the beautiful Cross Mountain with the Chapel of the Holy Sepulchre, which you can reach on foot, as well as the Silver Gully, the ruins of Tolštejn Castle, Jedlová Lookout Tower with a restaurant or the local sports complex with wonderful activities for the whole family. There are several other lookout towers nearby, such as Smokehouse in Rumburk, Luž, Tanečnice or Wolf Mountain. And the wider surroundings are certainly worth mentioning, e.g. Krásná Lípa as the centre of Bohemian Switzerland, where you can visit many interesting places, e.g. the Luční bar, Fritsche arboretum in Sněžná, the Nobilis Tilia aromatherapy centre (natural cosmetics shop, tea room and freely accessible permaculture garden with activities for children), etc. For gentlemen we have several small breweries in the area - Kocour Varnsdorf, Falkenštejn Krásná Lípa, Kotouč Česká Kamenice, Cvikov, etc. The famous restaurant (or pub?) at Jedlovské nádraží station is also worth mentioning, but you can only reach it by train or by bike or on foot. It is in the middle of the forest and it is a place where, as we locals say, the world is still in order. You will eat well there and you won't regret it. Also within a few minutes walk is the popular Dolní Podluží Ice Cream Parlour, where you can enjoy several types of great ice cream. In winter, there is a ski slope a few minutes away. It is also possible to visit tourist destinations in Germany. From the larger towns, for example, Zittau is accessible by train, from where you can take a narrow-gauge railway to Oybin Castle. You will certainly not be bored with us. In the village square you will find a very well stocked grocery store, a pastry shop with a bakery and a restaurant with a very nice outdoor terrace. Otherwise, everything is by appointment and we are willing to help and advise. If you want to spend nice days in a place where it's dark and quiet at night and still have a few minutes walk to the square or the bus stop, don't hesitate to come ;-) By agreement, the impossible is possible...:) P.S.
