About the cottage
My husband inherited a cottage where extended family had gathered for over forty years. It is strategically located halfway between Prague and Brno and meets the 5K criteria for which our ancestors once chose it: Tranquility, its Charm, Swimming, Beautiful Scenery, Nearby Church... Our family of six spends most of our free days here (especially school holidays) often in the company of friendly families. The cottage, standing under an ash tree, offers a great deal of privacy, although it is located in the heart of the picturesque village of Zderaz in the Pardubice Region on the northern edge of the Highlands. With its almost three hundred years of history, it is a place that has its own spirit, charm and flies. We will be happy to share everything with you. It would help us with the cost of running it (and future improvements) and you can relax, invite friends over, or work online/offline overlooking the extensive woodland.

If the weather cooperates, you can enjoy skating (at your own risk) on the frozen water surface in front of the Renospond Hotel, only 550 m from the cottage. Children can have fun with bobsleds and sledges on a gentle hill in the local meadow, about 400 m from the cottage. Another good place to slide is the area by the rock dwelling, just 60 m away.

We wish you a wonderful stay and hope you enjoy the cottage and the surroundings. In order to ensure that everything runs smoothly, please observe a few rules.
RULES AND USEFUL INFORMATION
NON-SMOKING AREA - No smoking in all indoor areas of the cottage.
WASTE SEGREGATION -
- Plastic (including tetrapak), paper, glass, oil - containers are next to the COOP store above the cottage.
- Bio-waste (except cooked food scraps) - in the composter under the walnut tree next to the gate.
- Mixed waste - the bin is in the garden next to the gate. DISHWASHER - we do not put wooden utensils, sharp knives or beer pints with printing in it.
FIREWATER - It is in the shoe closet in case of need.
PLEASE CLEAN UP BEFORE YOU LEAVE ✨
✅ Take out the trash, clean the kitchen and bathroom.
✅ Empty the dishwasher, washing machine and fridge (take it out of the drawer) leave them open.
✅ Vacuum and mop the floors (the vacuum cleaner is in the wicker basket under the stairs and the mop on the doorstep).
✅ Check the ashtray before and after using the stove, if it is full and cold, please empty into the composter.
If you do not want to clean yourself, you can arrange with Mrs. Sysova for a final cleaning for 950 CZK (when occupying one bedroom, each additional bedroom 200 CZK).
Turn off the heating and gas supply to the waffles - Lever under the waffles.

A magical place! Everything you need is available at the cottage.
A beautiful cottage with the atmosphere of the old times, among other things with an interesting construction system, as well as the surroundings. Amenities perfect, spacious "kitchen", comfortable sleeping, etc... You could stay here for a long time ...

The accommodation, outdoor facilities and amenities of the cottage were absolutely perfect. There was nothing that we missed during our stay. The location is quiet, there are plenty of places to go or hike in the area. There are natural swimming pools, forests or rock dwellings nearby which really interested our children. It's a place like a fairy tale, which we would love to return to again in the future.
The cottage is as described, don't expect any luxury, it's really partly in a good way like an "open-air museum". The history of the cottage corresponds to this. The rooms upstairs are new. Really lots of rooms and space to sleep, if you are planning to come in large numbers and are not spoiled by hotels, this is the place. The kitchen facilities are sufficient, everything one needs. What impressed us the most was the ETA hand beater that our grandmothers owned :) a lovely memory of our childhood. Who would not be able or would not want to cook on the stove even because of the preparation of chips, there is an induction double cooker. We didn't even need heating in the upper rooms, the stove in the kitchen was enough, if left open the heat went beautifully into the upper rooms. The smaller garden with fire pit is perfect for campfires and barbecues. There are plenty of toys and art supplies in the cottage, even a nice supply of children's books. There are plenty of places to hike, walk, bike or drive to in the area. Our crew consisted of 4 adults and a smaller dog and we were happy with our stay.
