The water in these lakes is mostly carp, but pike can also be caught here. On these lakes you must have a full carp permit or a special permit. The rates on these lakes are a little different than elsewhere.

Combining hiking in the countryside with hiking in the city will give you both amazing and delicious experiences. For example, climb Sitno in the morning and visit the castle in the afternoon, or just stroll through the narrow streets of Štiavnica and sit in a café or wine bar in the evening. Thanks to the dense network of hiking trails, you can combine your own routes. Very attractive is, for example, the ridge stretching from the Červená studňa saddle (there is a taich here), through Paradajs, towards Tanád. There are several viewpoints, e.g. the Paradajs hill, or the area called Rosniarky. At the bottom there is a very nice viewpoint of Banská Štiavnica, accompanied by several stone menhirs. The Banská Štiavnica Calvary is one of the most beautiful Baroque calvaries in Europe. It stands on the Scharffenberg hill and can be seen from all sides. The ascent to the Upper Church is a pleasant walk and offers unique views of the town itself and the surrounding area. There are also trails suitable for children and less fit hikers.
In Banská Štiavnica Pegas Riding Club or in Sv. Anton Ranch Wild Zapadakov there is a possibility of riding a horse, but you need to report 2-3 days in advance.
Banská Štiavnica is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and for many people it is one of the most beautiful and charming places in Slovakia. It also boasts a number of interesting cultural events or festivals that take place there throughout the year. Štiavnica is known for specialising in minority genres and quality. There are many monuments and museums. Thanks to the Old Castle, you will find yourself in the 13th century and get to know Stiavnica through historical exhibitions. However, a new castle was needed to defend against the Turks, which is why it is now home to exhibitions of anti-Turkish battles with unique examples of weapons. In addition, the castle offers visitors a unique view of the town. The Bank of Love is a place that is considered to be unique in the world. It refers to the love of Andrej Sládkovič and Marína Pischlová. It is located right in her birth house. The Mining Museum in Nature is located 5 km from Lúka and takes about 1.5 hours to explore. The short Michal adit in B. Štiavnica is also suitable for small children and is located right next to the Tourist Information Centre. You can walk through it in 10 minutes and at the end you can see various minerals in the Mineralogical Exposition. If the topic of mining fascinates you and you want to learn even more about the history of mining, visit the Mining in Slovakia exhibition in Kammerhof. In Štiavnica you will also find the Botanical Garden on the grounds of the historic Mining and Forestry Academy, the world's first technical college (1762), and many other attractions.
